AB Agri, through their WhiteGold business, has developed over the past 18 months a unique scheme that in co-operation with Waitrose, Dairycrest and the Wildlife Trusts will improve wildlife habitats on the farms that supply milk to Waitrose through their select Farm Milk Group.
10 have developed the brand guidelines for the WildCare logo and integrated it to the existing Waitrose Select Farm product range such as milk and cream. We have also created supporting instore communications and activites.
It hit the shelves this July on all Waitrose Select Farm milk labels, which indicated the commitment from the supplier farms to keep 10% of their farms as Wildlife habitat.
The 'WildCare' scheme is planned to be the first of several such schemes that build on the KW Trident and WhiteGold understanding of dairy farming, and how we can help dairy farmers change their practices to deliver real benefits that add value for consumers and retailers.
