Creating a brand for Westpack
Since their beginnings in 1884, Westpack have grown and evolved into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of commercial packaging solutions and specialist technical tapes. Today, their satisfied customers include some of the biggest names in their sectors – companies with the kind of high standards that only another market leader can match.
At over 100,000 sq ft, the Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire based manufacturing company provided us with a fantastic opportunity when they asked us to carry out a full rebrand programme.
Brandschool™ gave us, and the client, the chance to examine their business not only from an internal perspective but also to see how they were percieved by their existing clients. A simple question such as 'Why do we package something?' opened a wide debate which led us to look at the materials that they used, the way items were shipped, who the workforce were behind the processes and what true qualities their product could bring to the end client.
The conclusion of our collective thoughts was that Westpack 'Created designs to help solve a problem', this led us to our new positioning - 'We believe it's what's on the inside that counts.'
With a full suite of stationery items, marketing material, a fleet of vehicles and a website to update, the task at Westpack was a sizeable one. We welcomed the opportunity to work with photographer Adrian Ray, to get some great shots from their Sheffield base, and rolled out the new brand as you see it to a very energised team.
